The Company
We are currently looking for a creative web or digital designer with outstanding website, design or
development skills.
The role
Our in-house Communications and Design department specialise in communications, creative
design and social media support services. This involves marketing, social networking, writing
press releases, case studies and creating presentations to support the sales team. We also
develop a wide range of point of sale material such as flyers, posters, brochures as well as
getting involved with the branding of new products and designing custom printed products.
Key Responsibilities
We are looking for a capable candidate who has a firm grounding in web and creative design
packages and who is also looking to develop their skills further. This role may interest you if you
are familiar and have experience with any of the following:
1.    Design experience and knowledge of Adobe CS suite
2.    Proficiency in HTML, CSS and JavaScript
3.    Optimization of websites for mobile devices
4. ExperienceofusingandbuildingContentManagementSystemsorotherAPIs,e.g.

We have a multitude of projects in the pipeline and as such the role will be tailored to your
particular skillset. These run from reworking our point of sale material for use in other territories,
updating core functional design elements such as product cartons, developing Vegware’s use of
QR codes, deploying new sites in additional languages, preparation of custom designs for clients
and Vegware stock lines, working on our product brochures and core website, refreshing design /
integration on social media sites, along with any other opportunity you spot to enhance our online
or print offering.

I am the Chief Editor of the Edinburgh Napier Journal of Finance and Economics, a student run and published journal that aims to showcase outstanding academic work. We have printed our first issue and received assistance in putting it together from someone who previously studied at the computing school of Napier. I was wondering if you knew of any potential students that would be able to assist us in the process of putting the journal together? Its an excellent addition to their CV that will help students stand out when applying for jobs as well as a great opportunity for the school of Accounting to collaborate with the School of Computing on such an exciting project.

Its not very much work it’s really just taking the document from a word document and creating it into a pdf along with including the pdf front page, back page and headers so that it can be sent to a professional printer and meet their printing requirements (bleed lines etc). But we would really appreciate any assistance or guidance that your students could give us.

Brief Posting Description

Aegon UK is seeking a student to work in the HR department for 4 months during the summer of 2013. The role will primarily involve upgrading a suite of existing regulatory eLearning modules to a new technology (Claro) and will offer some exposure to eLearning strategy and design work.

Detailed Description

We have a suite of elearning modules which were developed over the past 10 years using various authoring tools (Authorware, Flash). These are now incompatible with new delivery platforms and the older technologies will be unsupported in the future as we upgrade our IT systems.

We need to upgrade the existing courses by reproducing them using a new rapid authoring tool, dominknow Claro. This a fully HTML5 compliant elearning authoring tool which will enable us to deliver courses to desktop PCs, tablets and mobile devices. Training will be provided in using Claro.

While we intend to use the existing course as a starting point for the upgrade, we will also work with subject matter experts to make sure the course content remains technically correct and fit for purpose.

Where appropriate, we will use the features of Claro to improve the learner experience, for example by adding more interactivity.

The successful applicant will work closely with the Elearning Manager to:

· plan the transfer of each course

· review the existing material and assess its suitability

· make changes to text and images as directed by subject matter experts

· design and produce the course

Job Requirements

This position would suit a student who has completed their third year of study on the BSc Digital Media or the BSc Interactive Media Design course at Napier University.

The skills required are:

· Good communication skills, both written and verbal

· Creative skills in the design of digital presentations

· Organised and methodical approach to project work

· Familiarity with Microsoft Office software
